Thank you!! ❤ I do plan on taking a couple months off when the baby gets here. Happily, that should just coincide with the end of posting for Radiance.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

As for DnD, play-by-post is the only way I've been able to play the last few years. There are TONS of servers on Discord you could look into. The best ones imo are "Westmarches" because that cuts out a lot of the DM burnout pbp can cause. I have noticed, however, that the pbp format does take from the same brain energy source as my writing does. So the more I want to write, the less I can play.

Also, love your character builds. Spot on! When I was writing a short novella for my wife as a 10 year anniversary gift, I ended up making the MC into a character to get into the headspace better. I like to think it helps.

Thanks! :)

I need to look into pbp more seriously. I used to be heavily into more freeform roleplay forums, but they can go so toxic so fast, and now I’m ~old~. If I can start out on Substack knowing nobody and end up with friends, surely I can make it work in a strange Discord server, right. But yeah, my concern is that it would end up taking up too much of my brain (at least when it’s an established session, I can cordon that off from the rest of my creative time.)

If you ever decide to give pbp a try let me know. I can get you an invite to one of the servers I'm on.

Congratulations on your fourth! That’s so exciting! I’ll be praying for a safe delivery 💛Please don’t worry if you do need to take a break from Substack! We’ll be here when you return. Even without a family of my own, I’m going to have to take a break this fall; it’s amazing to me when young mothers can keep up with both!

P.S. I think Kira is adorable, and she looks a lot like my cat, too. They have a habit of swiping all the cozy spots, assuming it’s specifically for their benefit!

Thank you, Thérèse! ❤

Tabby cats are so sweet! But this is her house and she’s sure we just live in it, haha.

They are! My kitty probably believes she adopted us, not the other way around.
