We actually took the kids down to the aquarium the day the prompt came out - that's how I got the idea - so all my shark research got to double as homeschool. Win-win.
Holy moly. I was not expecting to have my deepest darkest fears triggered while getting ready for bed. So good! But my heart rate needs some time to recover…
Now that my nerves have calmed down, I can tell you I've just finished reading and taking some preliminary notes. More comments to come in the official scoring! WOW this was a thriller start to finish. You put a lot of thought into making this just the right amount of terrifying, and I genuinely almost stopped reading because I was afraid Paul was going to die. Your entries for the future challenges are going to be a blast, I can tell!
Excellent. The sardonic wit doesn't dampen the tension. You've really got the whole "it gets better for our hero in one small way but much, much worse in all the important ways" thing down pat.
Oh, thanks! I have a friend with a habit of telling the most insane stories as if he was just some goofball who stumbled into a totally understandable predicament. I thought I'd try to channel that energy.
You captured it well. I'm still smiling thinking about it. The story has all this humor in its voice WITHOUT sacrificing the intensity of the situation. I couldn't do that if I had a month to get it right. I commend you!
Very good. Too many tiger sharks for comfort.
Thanks! I would have to agree.
Details to feed a nerd's craving, tension to feed a nerd's insomnia. Thumbs up! :)
Thank you! I do love getting the details in.

I love when that happens:D

Like Eric already wrote, the sense of humor mixed with the tense situation was an enjoyable read. Great!
Thank you!

I can't think of a higher compliment than my story sticking with you. I really appreciate it!
This was griping, definitely had me a bit tensed. Great, just great another writer I have to keep an eye for reading.
